Nuka-Cola

With less than a week to go before the new Fallout game comes out, I decided to focus my anticipation for the game into something productive and make every adventurer’s favorite post-apocalyptic soda Nuka Cola!

Weirdly enough I think this may be the most artwork I’ve had to make for a project. Normally I enjoy making materials with surface shaders and not worrying about the unwrapping, but naturally, that approach wouldn’t work for something like this.

So using many a reference of both Nuka Cola production art as well as some inspiration from it’s real world counterpart I had to make some textures! Not a first, but definitely a rare thing for my particular art style. Perhaps it’ll be a skill that I can now lean more heavily on when it comes to details.

Also had to experiment with refraction, something I haven’t done a lot of in the past, but needed to utilize to really sell the look of the bottles as being glass. Rather pleased with the results, and yet another skill I think I’ll now try to use more of, now that I know how to make them fit in with my art style properly

Now, I couldn’t do a model of Nuka Cola, without also doing a QuanTum varient, could I?!

I feel this also goes without saying, but I don’t own anything to do with Nuka Cola, Fallout, or Bethesda.

just a fan of the series who wanted to show some love!
