New York

Lately I’ve been in a mood to travel more, but since I don’t have the funds for that right now I’ve decided to instead model the places I want to go to. This time, it’s New York! I remember always wanting to go, cause it seemed like one of those places that everyone has to go to at least once, but after living in Toronto for the past 19 months it’s admittedly kind of lost some of it’s allure. I know the two cities are far from similar, but I’ve learned that city life doesn’t really seem like a good fit for me, I need space, fresh air, and perhaps more importantly, quiet.

Now, onto some notes about the model itself. The Empire State Building, the Cab, and the base of the statue of liberty were all my models through and through. However, when it comes to the statue itself, I needed some help. It’s originally a 3D Scan ( Found Here ) That I used as a reference. I did some re-typology work over parts of it, and for some of the smaller detailed sections I used the clean up and reduction tools. I got it to a point where I was happy with the low poly look, but not too far that it was indistinguishable.
