Jack O Lantern

It’s October, the spookiest month of the year, so I wanted to do some spooky related models. What better place to start then with perhaps my favorite Halloween themed event, carving pumpkins!

This was actually really fun to do, I think I may have spent more time trying to figure out how I wanted the models face to look, then it actually took to model the face itself.

I kept bouncing back and forth between spooky, or cartoony, then the spooky wasn’t too spooky enough, then it was too spooky and didn’t resemble a fun Jack O Lantern at all. It was a surprisingly hard balance to find. In the end, I settle on what you see here, and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out!

This model may have changed the most from initial colour pass, to final compositing, But I love how it turned out!
